Originally, from the Rhineland, Désirée J. Vach founded Snowhite in 2009. Previously Vach worked for the independent label Kitty-Yo, which stopped releasing records in 2006, after which Vach left Kitty-Yo and took over the management of the independent label Weekender Records Germany. In early 2009, Vach quit Weekender Records Germany and founded Snowhite.

Désirée J. Vach is also a lecturer on the DigiMediaL_musik project, an advanced training program for musicians at Berlin Career College of the Berlin University of the Arts, and also works as a consultant for the American digital distributor INgrooves. Vach is part of the VUT board since 2014 and became its chairwomen in 2017.


The Verband unabhängiger Musikunternehmen e.V, (VUT – Association of Independent Music Companies) represents the interests of small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) in the German music industry. Its members are made up of around 1,300 labels, publishers and distributors, as well as self-promoting artists.

As an association, the VUT is committed to the interests of the independent music industry, whose core are its musicians and authors, at German, European and international level. As a service provider, the VUT offers its members a wide range of consulting, information and other services. These include membership and legal advice, education and training events, the conclusion of framework agreements and regular industry newsletters.
