As part of its programme to encourage the discovery of new talent in high potential regions,
Midem is proud to have launched its debut Studio Sessions by Dynaudio Unheard.

As we believe that seeking out and nurturing the freshest talent is key to the future of our global industry, we were delighted to put artists and creation at the heart of Midem and contribute to supporting the next generation. Throughout the conference, the most promising worldwide artists had the chance to perform in exclusive public recording sessions.

The touring studio created by Dynaudio, the first of its kind in Europe, was located at the entrance of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

ANYA has American R&B and hip-hop running through her veins and Scandinavian thoughtfulness on her mind – her Danish dad and African-American mom obviously passed on the best of both worlds, when they raised the young singer in the Danish countryside. ANYA released her debut single, Greet Me, in 2014 and was immediately appointed “one to watch” by the Danish media. In 2015, she won the award for Single of the Year with Greet Me at The Scandinavian Soul Award as well as Danish newspaper Politiken “Byen-award” in the category Upcoming of the Year. The hype was a force to be reckoned with for the young singer and her debut EP, which she - in line with her being down to earth and humble - entitled “The Credit”. Since then, things have evolved rapidly for ANYA: she has released a number of successful singles, she has toured the country and she has performed at the biggest TV shows in Denmark.

BB Brunes

Candice Pillay

A real story of undeniable talent and determination. Born and raised in the small town of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Her journey from Africa to America was not an easy one. Her relentless sprit and passion for music drove her to accomplish amazing results. Solo artist sighed to Interscope Records, Kid in a Korner and a super star writer published under Universal Publishing.

Having worked with some of the best in the music industry today  (Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, School Boy Q, Timbaland, Anderson Paak, Tinie Tempah, Calvin Harris, and many more) she’s one hell of an example to follow for the dreamers out there.

It is fair to say 2018 was a remarkable year for Kyan, boasting a euphoric COLORS session, backing from Nile Rodgers and support from Ebro (Beats 1). 2019 promises much, as Kyan continues to release tracks from his upcoming self-written and produced visual album ‘Nothing Beyond’. Kyan delivers an atmospheric retro futuristic soul soundscape, packed full of genre bending artistry. Rebellion pulses beneath the surface of Kyan’s music, from its raw instrumentation to its experimental orchestral interludes and powerful, conscious visuals. A defiant spirit with a strong independent streak, Kyan crowdfunded to ensure full creative freedom and control over his sound.
