MIDEM 2013: ROBERT SCOBLE

Classical Embassy

• dedicated venue where networking and music will easily be shared

  Within the midem off, the classical embassy, will take place in a unique and pleasant venue in the centre of Cannes, where networking and music will easily be shared.
• 

  Over the course of three thematic nights (26-28 Jan. 2013), the most promising young artists presented their talent to both midem participants and a B2C audience.

  • James Jolly hosted each evening, also supported by distinguished ambassadors such as Christa Ludwig, Eugène Prim, Alain Lanceron or Alice Sara Ott.
  • Classical Embassy took place in a pleasant venue called Majestic – Salon Marta : 10 boulevard de la croisette, 06400 Cannes.
  • Saturday was dedicated to vocal and present a mesmerising programme proposed in partnership with the prestigious Salzburg Festival through their “Young Singer Project”. Download the programme here!
  • Sunday was dedicated to string instruments and present a selection of some of the most talented young artists promoted and presented in partnership with YCAT(Young Concert Artists Trust).
  • Monday was dedicated to piano in partnership with Steinway & Sons.

  James Jolly

  Editor in chief of Gramophone, Presentator at BBC Radio 3.
  James Jolly contributes a monthly column on downloading and new technologies to the Gramophon magazine. He co-presents BBC Radio 3's Sunday Morning, and is a regular voice on the network; he recently fronted a documentary on Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.
