Listening Sessions

Play your tracks in front of influential music supervisors looking for music to place in their projects (video games, advertisements, film and TV scores, etc.).

Last year, Welsh rockers Attack! Attack! saw their single, “You and Me” featured in “Guitar Hero 5” following a MIDEM Listening Session. The Thieves submitted “A Million Miles” to the Riptide Music Listening session, which was subsequently placed in the A&E show “The Cleaner”.

DJ Hero® Listening Session: Do you want your song mashed up in the next DJ Hero®?

This session offers participants a rare chance to get their song mashed up in the next DJ Hero®. Activision/Blizzard is looking for “various styles ranging from electronica, hip-hop, rock and other genres useable in a DJ set that would make great gameplay!” Submit your track and a jury of industry professionals will judge the 10 finalists selected from among the submissions during the DJ Hero® Listening Session on Wednesday 27 January at 14.30, in the Auditorium K (level 4).

Latecomers can also submit their track on site (CD format) in the DJ Hero® Drop Box (Level 0 next to the elevator, entrance of the Speaker Club & Lounge).

MTV Listening Session: Would you like your song to be placed in the Hills?

MTV gives you the chance to be considered for licensing and placement opportunities in an upcoming episode of the Hills, a reality television program that follows the personal lives of several young people living in Los Angeles.

Joe Cuello, VP of Creative Music Integration at MTV, will choose the top 5 tracks to be presented at the listening session (on Tuesday 26 January from 10.00am to 11.30am) and the best track will be given licensing and placement opportunities in future episodes of MTV shows.

Grey Listening Session: Can you write a head turning anthem-like instrumental track?

The Grey Music Director and Pantene will evaluate submissions before MIDEM and create a Top 20 Playlist. Join Josh Rabinowitz at MIDEM Listening Session (on January 26th at 2.30pm) for presentation and evaluation.

Submissions will be accepted on behalf of Pantene (P&G) for 2010 campaign consideration in North America and potentially beyond.

RipTide Listening Session:Get Your Music into Movie Trailers!

MIDEM and RipTide Music, a leading music licensing & publishing company, bring you the inside story of getting your music front the movie trailer decision makers and invite you to submit for a potential placement.

Angel Mendoza, Music Supervisor at AV Squad, a US motion picture marketing firm, who has worked on the trailers for X-Men 1&2, No Country for Old Man, Inglorious Basterds… will play and discuss with Rich Goldman, Founder & President of RipTide Music, the best songs and music submitted for potential placements in upcoming movie trailer projects.
