midem is pleased to present this interview with Mike Bebel, Global Head of Music at Nokia Entertainment.
Q: Why did you decide to attend midem 2012?
A: For many years, Nokia has been a leading global partner to the music industry. It’s important to us to maintain this ongoing collaboration.
Q: What is your key business objective at midem?
A: I aim to gain insight into the current trends and needs of the music industry, so that Nokia can continue to be a strong partner.
Q: Regarding midem’s new focus on artists, tech, and brands, which sectors are you the most interested in networking with?
A: We know that artists are the brands in music. However, we want to connect with all the participants in the music ecosystem, so everyone understands that Nokia is a key partner.
Q: What do you think is the music industry’s brightest hope for the future?
A: The music industry is still in the midst of a long and difficult transition. But I find hope in the fact that more people around the world have access to music & music services than ever before. Finding innovative ways to capitalize on this collaboratively, across the value chain, is the hope for the future.
